Set up the court
Receive serves from both return positions, direct the compact return through the deep middle and recover behind the baseline before the next serve.

Step by step
Your 15-minute practice
0–3 min
Time the return split
- Track four serves and land as the server contacts the ball.
- Do not swing during the tracking round.

Block through the middle
- Return eight controlled serves with compact preparation.
- Aim beyond the service line.
7–11 min
Increase serve pressure
- Ask the server to add pace without changing placement.
- Recover behind the baseline immediately.
16 serves · 4 min
Score sixteen returns
- Count deep return and recovery together.
- Aim for ten successes.
