Remember
Three player cues
- Serve wide with shape.
- Split on the return.
- Take the high ball early.
Avoid these
Common mistakes
- Serving too hard to move forward in balance
- Stopping before the split-step cone
- Pulling the swing volley too close to the sideline
Keep the same purpose
Adjust the challenge
Make it easier
Use a larger serve box target and have the feeder hand-feed the swing volley.
Make it harder
Let the feeder return high to either side and play a live second volley after the swing volley.
Keep it safe
The feeder stays behind the baseline and all balls are cleared from the forward approach lane between sets.
