Step by step
Your 15-minute practice
0–3 min
Name the two routes
- Shadow neutral adjustment steps and defensive crossover recovery.
- Call the situation before moving.
3–7 min
Use predictable pairs
- Ask for one neutral and one defensive feed.
- Send both replies deep with different height.
7–11 min
Read mixed feeds
- Let the feeder change the order.
- Recover to the matching cone before the next ball.
14 feeds · 4 min
Score fourteen choices
- Count correct feet and recovery zone together.
- Aim for ten successes.
Remember
Three player cues
- Read pressure first.
- Adjust for neutral, cross over for defence.
- Recovery zone matches the shot.
Avoid these
Common mistakes
- Using small shuffle steps from a wide defensive position
- Treating every central ball as an attack
- Recovering to centre before balance returns
Keep the same purpose
Adjust the challenge
Make it easier
Keep the two feed types predictable and widen the recovery zones.
Make it harder
Mix short attacking balls as a third situation and require an early call.
Keep it safe
Keep wide recovery routes clear and allow extra time after defensive feeds.
